Davina Arhin wins top broadcast award at OTEC journalism event

Davina Arhin won the top broadcast journalism award at the first Boakye Agyarko Excellence Awards on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025. The 25-year-old student received recognition as the best program host, and she earned the overall best student journalist title at the OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies ceremony.

The school held a specialization competition as part of its SRC week celebrations, where participants designed broadcast programs. Twelve students received honors in categories such as news anchoring, reporting, sports presenting, producing, and master control room operations.

Acting Dean of Students Jacob Agyenim Boateng praised Arhin’s dedication, and he credited NPP national chairman aspirant Boakye Agyarko for funding the event. Arhin thanked school officials, classmates, and her family for their support, and she encouraged fellow journalism students to maintain consistent training habits.
