Dhaka University celebrates Sharat Utshab with art and culture

Dhaka University celebrated “Sharat Utshab (Autumn Festival) 1432” on Thursday at the Bakultala of the Faculty of Fine Arts, filled with music, dance, and artistic expression. The event, organized by multiple university departments and supported by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, was a day-long festival.

Professor Md Azharul Islam Sheikh, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, presided over the opening, with Professor Sayema Haque Bidisha, pro-vice chancellor of Dhaka University, attending as the chief guest. Several other faculty deans and department heads were present as well.

Professor Sayema Haque Bidisha praised the festival for strengthening teacher-student bonds and promoting mutual communication in today’s tech-driven world. The festival featured vibrant cultural performances, a painting exhibition, and a competition. Faria Nowshin Ahmed, Sajjadul Islam, and Farhad Ali won the art competition, and the event ended with colorful performances showcasing Bangladesh’s art and heritage.
