Dhaka University marks Mourning Day for Jagannath Hall collapse victims

Dhaka University marked Mourning Day on Wednesday to remember those who died in the Jagannath Hall building collapse on 15 October 1985. A condolence rally was held, with Vice-Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan leading the group to the Jagannath Hall Memorial, where wreaths were laid in tribute. A minute’s silence was observed, and a discussion meeting followed. Prof Khan expressed hope that such a tragedy would never happen again and called for collective cooperation in developing the university. He also emphasized the importance of contributions from alumni and the public for ongoing infrastructure development.
