Dilov says GERB pays the bill, blasts rivals
A GERB MP, Lyuben Dilov, defended the proposed 2026 national budget by stating that the country must now address the economic consequences of four years of what he characterized as unmanaged governance. He asserted that his party possesses the political courage to pay this bill, suggesting a coalition currently has the necessary support to pass the financial plan.
Dilov claimed that the adoption of the euro necessitated more socially responsible measures, resulting in fewer tax changes than he initially expected. He contrasted his party’s prolonged tenure with the inability of the Continuing Change-Democratic Bulgaria coalition to govern effectively, questioning their electoral support and referencing a former leader who resigned. He also challenged the opposition’s accusations of corruption by asking which party leader had stepped down due to such allegations and which mayors were currently under investigation.
