Drone disaster injures attendee at Filmfare Awards, echoes China mishap

The 70th Filmfare Awards in Ahmedabad kicked off with chaos when a drone show honoring Bollywood legends took a disastrous turn. As the show concluded, one rogue drone malfunctioned and crashed into the crowd, injuring a woman. Though the injury was minor, the scene quickly spiraled into panic, freezing the audience for a good 10-15 minutes. Thankfully, the event regained momentum and continued without further disruption.

The incident echoes a similar disaster in China just weeks ago, where a drone and fireworks show turned into chaos when drones caught fire and spiraled out of control. Spectators scrambled to escape, but luckily, no one was hurt. This latest mishap raises alarms about the safety of drone performances, especially as we enter the age of AI and high-tech disasters. Meanwhile, on the bright side of the night, Abhishek Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan snagged Best Actor, and Alia Bhatt won Best Actress for ‘Jigra’.
