DUCSU and BIRDEM to host cancer awareness event

Dhaka University students will learn about breast cancer detection and prevention on Tuesday when the Central Students’ Union teams up with BIRDEM Hospital for a health awareness program. The event starts at 11 a.m. at the TSC Auditorium on campus.

Medical specialists from BIRDEM will teach participants how to recognize early warning signs and perform self-examinations. The hospital’s director general, Professor Dr. Mirza Mahbub, will join university administrators and student leaders at the gathering.

The program aims to help students identify health risks early and seek treatment quickly. Oncologists, surgeons and public health experts will lead the educational sessions for attendees from various academic departments.
