Education minister visits schools, meets Kyaukme families

Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein visited No. 1 Basic Education High School in Kyaukme Township, where she met with teachers, students, and parents. During her remarks, she emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the education sector, highlighting ongoing efforts to provide necessary materials for teaching and learning. She underscored the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents in achieving educational goals, and called on teachers to focus on improving the Grade-12 pass rate while encouraging parents to support their children’s studies outside of school.

The minister also discussed alternative educational pathways for students who complete Grade 9 but choose not to pursue Grade 12, noting the availability of courses in industrial, agricultural, and livestock subjects. Teachers were informed about upcoming summer capacity-building courses, with remote options available via educational broadcasts for those unable to attend in person. During her visit, Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein and her delegation donated cash, school uniforms, books, and backpacks to education offices and students in both Kyaukme and Hsipaw. The group also toured classrooms, observed learning sessions, and checked on library facilities before visiting schools in Nawnghkio Township, where further donations and inspections were conducted.
