Election guide for media rolls out in Yangon

A launch event for the 2025 General Election Guide for Myanmar Media Professionals took place in Yangon at ShweU Daung Hall on Thursday morning. The Myanmar Press Council published the guide to support journalists ahead of the upcoming national vote. The ceremony began with opening remarks from Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Htay Aung, followed by an overview of the guidebook’s production from Myanmar Press Council Chairman Dr. Tin Tun Oo. During the event, Dr. Tin Tun Oo presented copies of the guidebook to the director of the Yangon Region Information and Public Relations Department and acknowledged the Myanmar Printers and Publishers Association for donating 2,000 copies.

The guidebook features three main sections focused on election coverage, essential information for news media, and guidelines for local and foreign media seeking to report on Election Day. It also provides contact details for regional election bodies and political parties. Distribution of the publication is set to reach media professionals across Myanmar’s regions and states, aiming to help journalists navigate the electoral process and access necessary resources during the election period.
