Rakhine CM checks Sittway site, chairs investment meet
Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin, joined by other state officials, visited the Sasana Beikman building at Lawkananda Pagoda in Sittway to review ongoing renovations on Thursday morning. During the visit, the chief minister directed workers to maintain the building’s original architectural features and checked on the supply of construction materials. The inspection focused on ensuring that the restoration work was proceeding in an organized and proper manner.
Later that day, U Htein Lin took part in the first Rakhine State Investment Committee meeting of 2025 at the state government office. He highlighted growth in several key sectors, mentioning the progress in food processing, cold storage, packaging, and the cultivation of both staple and plantation crops. The chief minister also noted advances in livestock, fisheries, salt production, logistics, hotels, and tourism across the state. The committee’s agenda included proposals to amend approved permits and extend project timelines, with officials discussing recommendations before the chief minister brought the meeting to a close.
