Tatkon marks 55th Kathina with over 160 Padethabins

A merit-sharing ceremony marking the 55th Tatkon Maha Kathina took place at Aung San Hall in Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on Thursday. The event brought together 55 Sayadaws and monks, led by township Maha Bon Kahtein Ovadacariya Sayadaw Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Bhaddanta Candasiri from Myo Shae Sandayon Monastery. Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, a Nay Pyi Taw Council member, officials, and donors joined in providing meals to the attending monks.

During the ceremony, Ovadacariya Sayadaw offered words of guidance, while the event chairman, U Zaw Lwin, oversaw the distribution and drawing of lots for Padetha trees. The congregation observed the Five Precepts, listened to recitations, and made formal offerings to the Sayadaws. The gathering concluded with participants sharing the merit accumulated from their donations. The ceremony featured the presentation of 162 Padethabin structures adorned with offerings valued at over 273 million kyats.
