Female students outperform males in HSC 2025 pass rate and GPA-5 results

In the 2025 HSC and equivalent exams, female students outperformed male students in both pass rates and GPA-5 achievements, continuing a trend from previous years. The overall pass rate for all students was 58.83%, with 62.97% of female students passing compared to 54.60% of male students, giving girls an 8.37% higher pass rate.

In terms of GPA-5, girls also led, with 37,044 out of 69,097 top scorers being female and 32,053 male. The exams began on 26 June and ended on 19 August, with practical exams held from 21 to 31 August. A total of 12,35,661 students participated, including 6,11,446 boys and 6,24,215 girls.
