First aid bootcamp wraps up at DU Rokeya Hall

Students at Dhaka University completed first-aid training on Sunday, learning lifesaving skills for emergencies. The program at Rokeya Hall covered cardiopulmonary resuscitation, drowning response, snakebite treatment, fracture care and hygiene practices through hands-on instruction.

Doctors Asma Faruqi and Zahed Hossain led the session organized by the Central Students’ Union and Bangladesh Global Health and Research Institute. Participants earned certificates after finishing the daylong course.

Student union leaders said the training will expand to 18 residential halls on campus. Officials are installing air conditioners in reading rooms at two women’s halls and addressing pest control issues.

The union plans strict enforcement against outsiders and drug problems on campus. Administrators have not yet transferred official duties to the student government, which has delayed some union activities across the halls.
