Former PM Khaleda Zia’s ex-secretary dies at 66

A senior government official who served under a former Bangladeshi prime minister died at his residence in Dhaka during the early hours on Monday.

Dr Kamal Uddin Siddiqui worked as principal secretary to Khaleda Zia until 2006. Authorities confirmed his death through an official announcement released that morning. He died at his home in the Gulshan neighborhood.

Funeral prayers will take place at Gulshan Azad Mosque following afternoon worship services, according to the statement. Burial will occur at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard after the ceremony concludes.
