Four shot near Howard University during homecoming
Four people suffered gunshot wounds near Howard University in Washington on Friday night, police said. The Metropolitan Police Department reported the attack happened at Georgia Avenue and Howard Place NW before officers secured the area.
One victim remained in serious condition and another in critical condition, authorities told WTTG. Officials have not disclosed the status of the two other injured individuals.
Video from Potomac Press captured a handcuffed person entering a police vehicle at the scene. Authorities have not confirmed any connection between that individual and the shooting.
The incident occurred along a commercial strip with university offices, shops, and dining establishments popular among Howard students and faculty. Police have not released details about what prompted the violence or identified any suspects.
