Frenkie de Jong signs new Barcelona deal until 2029

Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder for Barcelona, signed a new contract until 2029, the club announced on Wednesday. The 28-year-old joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2019 and has won two La Liga titles and two Copa del Rey trophies. Though he faced some struggles, he became an important part of the midfield last season alongside Pedri Gonzalez. De Jong, one of the club’s highest-paid players, agreed to a pay cut for his new deal starting in 2026/27.
