Grameenphone CEO and two others granted bail in fraud case
A Dhaka court released three Grameenphone executives on bail Sunday after they appeared to face fraud allegations. Magistrate Rownak Jahan Taki set bond at 5,000 taka for CEO Yasir Azman, acting board chairman Fazlul Haque, and human resources chief Sayeda Hossain.
Rakibul Azam filed criminal breach of trust charges on Sept. 26, prompting the court to order the trio to surrender by Oct. 26. The telecommunications company called the prosecution a harassment campaign targeting senior leadership and expressed confidence in receiving fair treatment from the judges.
