Tarique Rahman to leave for Umrah in late November

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman plans to travel from London to Saudi Arabia for Umrah in late November, according to party officials. Major General Fazle Elahi Akbar, security adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, said Rahman would depart around Nov. 20 for the pilgrimage.

Party members indicated Rahman may return to Bangladesh after completing the religious journey, though his route remains undecided. Akbar said the acting chairman has not confirmed whether he will fly directly to Dhaka from Saudi Arabia or stop in London first.

Rahman would stay at 196 Gulshan Avenue if he returns home. Party workers have expressed strong interest in his potential homecoming after years abroad.
