GST reform fuels surge in festive shopping across Chhattisgarh

The new Goods and Services Tax (GST) reform is making products cheaper, and more people are buying items, especially during the festive season. In Surajpur, Chhattisgarh, residents notice that everyday products cost less now. One person said that the lower tax helped them buy a refrigerator and a mixer for less money. Another person shared that buying a scooter was easier with the reduced tax.

Shopkeepers confirm that sales are up. A store owner said electronics are cheaper by 10 percent, and customers are buying more. Economists believe that as people spend more during the holidays, India’s economy will grow strong this year.
