Hadzhidimitrov expects slight diesel rise in Bulgaria

Bulgarian fuel markets have stabilized following recent price volatility, with diesel costs expected to rise modestly by 5 to 6 cents per liter in the coming weeks, according to Dimitar Hadzhidimitrov from the Association of Bulgarian Fuel Producers and Importers. The industry representative urged authorities to permit diesel exports, arguing that Lukoil produces beyond domestic requirements and that allowing overseas sales could reduce regional pricing across Southeast Europe.

Consumer purchasing patterns showed unusual activity as Bulgarians increased fuel acquisitions by nearly 25 percent amid supply concerns. Hadzhidimitrov discouraged additional hoarding behavior, emphasizing adequate availability throughout distribution networks. He recommended that oversight officials at Lukoil begin monitoring procurement processes for imported crude oil entering the country.
