Hannah Yeoh vows to tackle youth unemployment with Rakan Muda boost
Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said the expanded Rakan Muda allocation under Budget 2026 will help reduce youth unemployment, especially among those struggling with English.
Yeoh explained that many young people face unemployment due to a lack of English skills, and the RM40 million allocation will strengthen training to help them secure jobs. The budget for Rakan Muda is a 60% increase from this year’s RM25 million and will fund more impactful youth programs across the country.
She also welcomed the RM580 million for sports development, noting the continued support for the Sports Matching Grant and increased funding for the Road to Gold program and the 2027 SEA Games.
