HSC results show sharp drop in pass rate and GPA-5 holders

The results for the HSC and equivalent exams were released on Thursday, showing a significant drop in both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 holders. The pass rate fell by nearly 19%, from 77.78% last year to 58.83% this year. Over 5.8 lakh students failed the exams, including 27,000 who were absent.

Additionally, the number of GPA-5 holders dropped by more than 52%, with 69,097 students achieving the top grade, compared to 1,45,911 last year. A total of 12,35,661 students participated in the exams, with 6,11,446 boys and 6,24,215 girls. Over 27,000 students were absent during the exams.
