Hsipaw schools reopen as 1,300 students return
Schools in Hsipaw, Shan State North, have resumed operations through the combined efforts of Myanmar’s government, military, and residents. The reopening of No. 3 Basic Education High School brings the total to four functional schools, with student enrollment reaching 1,331 after 101 registered on Saturday.
Students receive complimentary textbooks and supplies from the Ministry of Education. The Public Health Department has initiated vaccination programs for 140 students younger than 15 years old. Military forces joined police officers, firefighters, and community members on Saturday to clean No. 2 Basic Education High School and a branch campus at Bawgyo.
Hsipaw People’s Hospital treated 16 outpatients and two inpatients on Saturday. Military demining units work to remove explosives from government facilities and public roads. Security forces maintain administrative control to support stability and economic growth for local ethnic communities.
