Ikpeba praises Chukwueze and Osimhen for World Cup qualifying win

Former Super Eagles forward Victor Ikpeba praised Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen for their standout performances in Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over the Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Ikpeba highlighted the “fantastic combination” between the two players, with Chukwueze providing Osimhen with two assists, while Osimhen scored a hat-trick.

Speaking on SuperSport, Ikpeba noted the healthy competition for positions in the national team and pointed out that both players, who previously played together in the U17s, have a strong understanding on the field. He commended their impressive partnership, which helped secure the win.

Nigeria will now aim to qualify for the 2026 World Cup through the playoffs.
