Ila Arun mourns brother Piyush Pandey

Singer and actress Ila Arun announced the death of her brother, Piyush Pandey, on Friday. The 70-year-old advertising executive passed away after an infection worsened. Ogilvy confirmed his death and said he served as Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Worldwide at the agency.

Pandey received the Padma Shri award and earned recognition for transforming Indian advertising. He moved the industry away from Western influences and created a distinct local identity. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta and musician Ehsaan Noorani paid tribute to his work.

Arun posted a photo on Instagram showing her applying a tilak to her brother’s head. She said the family felt heartbroken by the loss. Her brother Prasoon Pandey will share additional information about funeral arrangements.
