India wins ISA award for social security efforts

India’s recent recognition with the Outstanding Achievement in Social Security Award 2025 by the International Social Security Association (ISA) has been hailed as a significant milestone in the country’s journey toward inclusive growth. Industry leaders on Sunday praised the achievement, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long-term vision for securing the future of every worker.

Preet Deep Singh, Vice-President of Apna.co, highlighted how the award reflects Modi’s commitment to ensuring no one is left behind in India’s progress. He pointed out that social security, once neglected, now covers nearly 94 crore citizens, up from just 19% in 2015. Singh emphasized the Prime Minister’s ‘Antyodaya’ philosophy of uplifting the most disadvantaged.

Jaideep K, Chief Operating Officer of TeamLease, echoed this sentiment, calling the award a proud moment that demonstrates India’s progress in worker welfare. He praised the digital initiatives like the E-Shram and EPF portals, which have empowered millions of unorganized workers by making social security services easily accessible through technology.

Both leaders agreed that India’s rapid growth in social protection and digital inclusion reflects a global shift toward recognizing the nation’s leadership in labor reforms, setting the stage for a more inclusive and prosperous future.
