JCD leader Opi Das killed in knife attack in Hathazari

A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader, Opi Das, was killed and another youth, Tamim, was injured in a knife attack by unidentified assailants in Hathazari, Chattogram, on Tuesday evening.

The attack occurred around 8 pm near Chowdhuryhat Bazar, when a group of attackers struck Opi and Tamim in a narrow alley. Opi was stabbed in the neck, and Tamim was injured in the abdomen. Both were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where Opi was declared dead, while Tamim is receiving treatment.

Witnesses reported that the attack followed an altercation, though the cause remains unclear. Police are working to identify and arrest the attackers.
