Joe Biden undergoes radiation therapy for prostate cancer
Former US President Joe Biden, 82, is undergoing radiation therapy as part of his treatment for prostate cancer, his spokesman confirmed. The treatment, expected to last five weeks, follows hormone therapy, though further details were not disclosed. In May, Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, discovered after he reported urinary symptoms.
Biden, who previously lost his son Beau to cancer, has long supported cancer research. In 2022, he relaunched the “cancer moonshot” initiative to reduce cancer deaths. Prostate cancer, the second most common cancer among men, primarily affects older individuals.
