Kachin party vows unity and peace

The New Democracy Party outlined its platform for Kachin State voters as Myanmar approaches national elections on Sunday, Dec. 28. Secretary U Khaw Taint presented the party’s agenda via broadcast media on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The regional party seeks peaceful coexistence among ethnic communities and balanced economic progress across populations. Officials pledged to resist armed conflict and support federal democratic structures.

Party leaders promised independent decision-making without external influence from other groups. Candidates will compete for legislative seats at three levels of government.

The organization is committed to advancing political rights, education, and cultural preservation for Kachin residents. U Khaw Taint asked ethnic voters to support his party’s development goals.
