Phalon-Sawaw party vows peace push
The Phalon-Sawaw Democratic Party pledged to protect ethnic rights and pursue federal democracy as Myanmar prepares for December elections. Vice-chairperson Daw Naw Yuzana Wah outlined her organization’s platform on state media on Tuesday evening.
The party promises nonviolent methods to secure freedom and equality for Kayin communities across the country. Leaders said they will preserve indigenous languages and traditions while working with regional governments under constitutional frameworks.
Party officials plan to contest seats in the state and national assemblies. Candidates are committed to opposing policies that threaten ethnic welfare and economic development.
Daw Naw Yuzana Wah asked Kayin voters to support her party’s efforts to resolve political conflicts through peaceful cooperation. The organization seeks to unite ethnic groups under a federal system that guarantees basic freedoms.
