Karnataka BJP blames Congress for librarian’s suicide, demands CBI probe
The Karnataka BJP has accused the Congress-led government of being responsible for the suicide of a female librarian due to unpaid salary, calling it a “government-sponsored murder” and demanding a CBI investigation. R. Ashoka, the Leader of the Opposition, stated that the incident was not a suicide but a result of government negligence. He pointed to a potential cover-up and mentioned previous cases where the government tried to hide similar tragedies, such as suicides of librarians, contractors, police officers, and farmers.
Ashoka criticized the government for failing its people, claiming it has created an environment of despair. He also accused Congress leaders of trying to cover up the death in Kalaburagi and dismissed the government’s actions as inadequate. The tragic death of Bhagyavati Aggimath, a 40-year-old librarian, brought attention to the ongoing issue of unpaid salaries.
