Lisu party calls for unity, rights and real peace

A leader from the Lisu National Development Party outlined her organization’s commitment to multiethnic democracy and federal governance during recent statements about Myanmar’s political future. Dr. Khin Saw Nwet, serving on the central executive committee, emphasized her party’s dedication to cultural preservation and equal participation across all communities within the nation.

The organization supports democratic elections while promoting unity among diverse populations scattered across regions of India, China’s Yunnan province and Southeast Asian territories. Party principles reject sectarian divisions and instead advocate for mutual respect between ethnic populations. Officials hope armed factions will demonstrate goodwill by assisting communities affected by natural disasters and supporting national development initiatives.

Educational advancement without geographic discrimination remains a priority, particularly for highland and lowland ethnic groups. The party plans coordination with social welfare agencies to distribute teaching materials throughout Putao District villages in Kachin State. Economic proposals focus on legal protections for residents engaged in agriculture, livestock operations, mining and manufacturing sectors. Training programs targeting young men will cover small-scale industrial techniques and household skills to expand employment prospects while tourism partnerships aim to boost revenue through international visitors.
