Liverpool suffer fourth straight defeat to Brentford

Brentford defeated Liverpool 3-2 on Saturday, handing the defending Premier League champions their fourth straight league loss. Dango Ouattara, Kevin Schade and Igor Thiago scored for Brentford, who moved into 10th place while Liverpool dropped to sixth and could trail leaders Arsenal by seven points after matches on Sunday.

Liverpool has lost five of six matches across all competitions as manager Arne Slot searches for solutions after spending nearly 450 million pounds in the transfer window. Brentford used long throw-ins effectively, with Ouattara scoring first from Michael Kayode’s delivery and Schade adding a second after beating Ibrahima Konate.

Milos Kerkez pulled one back before halftime, but Igor Thiago converted a penalty after VAR showed Virgil van Dijk fouled Ouattara inside the box. Mohamed Salah scored late but Liverpool could not avoid defeat after months of struggles following their summer squad changes.
