Maxwell Dwarshuis return for India T20s
Australia adjusted its Twenty20 roster for the five-match series against India to give test prospects time in Sheffield Shield cricket before the Ashes. Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will appear only in the first two games while Sean Abbott sits out the final two matches. All-rounder Glenn Maxwell returns for the final three contests after recovering from a wrist injury. Left-arm paceman Ben Dwarshuis joins the squad for the last two matches after missing the one-day series with a calf strain.
Wicketkeeper Josh Philippe enters the squad as backup for Josh Inglis, who continues dealing with a calf problem that has sidelined him from one-day action. Australia secured the one-day series with a two-wicket victory in Adelaide on Thursday. Marnus Labuschagne left the one-day squad on Friday to play red-ball cricket. The Twenty20 series begins in Canberra on Wednesday before moving to Melbourne, Hobart, Gold Coast, and Brisbane.
Uncapped quick Mahli Beardman will participate in the final three Twenty20 games. The Ashes series opens in Perth on November 21. Mitchell Marsh leads a squad that features pace bowlers Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis alongside all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. Spinner Adam Zampa rounds out the bowling attack for the series against India.
