Min Aung Hlaing honors arts contest winners

The awarding ceremony of the 26th Traditional Myanmar Cultural Performing Arts Competitions took place at Thabin Hall, Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw, attended by Acting President and SSPC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

In his speech, he emphasized the duty to preserve and promote Myanmar’s traditional arts as a core part of national identity. He highlighted the cultural value of traditional singing, dancing, composition, and music, and called for the protection of these customs from foreign influence. He urged all citizens to blend tradition with modern creativity to strengthen national spirit, unity, and values for future generations.

Prizes were awarded to top performers across education levels and ethnic categories. A total of 1,660 contestants competed, with Yangon Region winning the highest number of awards.
