Mnangagwa allies push for 2030 term extension
Supporters of President Emmerson Mnangagwa are pushing hard for his term extension to 2030, a move causing tensions within ZANU-PF, especially with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s faction. ZANU-PF Director of Information Farai Marapira confirmed that the resolution calling for Mnangagwa’s extension is now official ahead of the 22nd National People’s Conference.
Marapira expressed confidence in the resolution’s success, praising Mnangagwa as a “listening leader” who values the people’s voice. The push for an extension comes amid growing uncertainty and division within the party over the future of the presidency.
