Mnangagwa, Chiwenga face-off ignites Zimbabwe power war

Look at Mnangagwa. The man moves with cold intent, ditching anyone close to Chiwenga and daring his rival to strike back. Chiwenga’s circle shrinks while every day Mnangagwa’s grip tightens. The vice president’s army links grow weaker, and nobody can say if he commands anything more than fading loyalty.

Politically, Mnangagwa has boxed Chiwenga in, leaving him little besides faint memories of past power. Tagwirei, Mnangagwa’s ally, waits in the wings, ready to inherit both fortune and influence if Chiwenga falls. Average Zimbabweans are left with no say, stranded as heavyweights threaten chaos in their pursuit of control. With tanks off the streets, the struggle plays out behind closed doors.

Each side circles, no trust, no pause, only survival. Chiwenga might gamble, but Mnangagwa holds the cash, the presidency, and a web of patronage. Even anger and secret alliances offer little chance against wealth and state muscle. A real clash would need violence, not just whispers or grudges.
