MPT donates over 340 blood bags in latest drive

Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications held its 17th blood drive on Wednesday, collecting more than 340 units at nine hospitals across the country. Workers and volunteers gave blood at facilities in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, Magway, Dawei, Mandalay and other cities as part of the company’s quarterly donation program.

Hiroyaki Okai from the telecom operator thanked staff and medical centers for supporting patients who need emergency transfusions. The company started its national blood initiative in 2016 and has provided more than 9,600 units to medical facilities and the National Blood Centre. Staff members participate in the drives every four months to help the healthcare system serve urgent cases across Myanmar.
