Muhammad Yunus returns from Rome after WFF meetings
Professor Muhammad Yunus returned home this morning after a two-day trip to Rome. He attended the World Food Forum at the Food and Agricultural Organisation headquarters. Yunus gave a speech at the opening of the forum and met with several leaders, such as Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu.
He also joined leaders to open the new office for the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty at the FAO. Yunus met with other officials, including the World Food Programme Executive Director and the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development. The Chief Adviser received a warm welcome at the FAO headquarters.
