Museveni hails Madi-Okollo progress, pledges more development
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni praised the progress made in Madi-Okollo District, highlighting improvements in infrastructure, education, and health under the NRM government. Speaking at a campaign rally, he noted that electricity, functional roads, and increased access to phones were key signs of development. Museveni promised further expansion of physical and social infrastructure, with plans to rehabilitate roads and build more schools and health centers.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to free education, announcing plans to recruit 50,000 teachers and eliminate illegal school fees. Museveni also urged the community to embrace the Parish Development Model (PDM) to boost household incomes, revealing that UGX 14 billion had already been disbursed to Madi-Okollo under the scheme. First Lady Janet Museveni and local leaders also praised the government’s achievements, emphasizing the importance of continued support for the NRM.
