Mushfiqur to play NCL opener for Sylhet

Mushfiqur Rahim will play for Sylhet Division when the National Cricket League starts on Saturday at various locations across Bangladesh. The defending champions also feature opener Zakir Hasan and fast bowlers Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain as players seek national team positions before the Ireland Test series. Test opener Shadman Islam represents Dhaka Division from round one, while Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Nayeem Hasan, and Hasan Murad compete for Chattogram Division.

Najmul Hossain Shanto plans to join Rajshahi Division from the second round, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz appearing for Khulna Division after the opening matches conclude. Fast bowler Nahid Rana will miss the first round because of his mother’s illness, but expects to return for round two. Selectors will watch performances closely as Bangladesh prepares to resume Test cricket after four months away from the format.
