Soumya Saif power Bangladesh to win
Bangladesh openers Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hasan exploited favorable batting conditions at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Thursday by attacking early while the ball remained hard. The pair compiled 176 runs before falling, with Saif scoring 80 from 72 deliveries and Soumya making 91 from 86 balls. Their partnership became the second-highest opening stand in Bangladesh one-day international history, producing 74 runs in the first 10 overs.
The innings slowed after both batsmen departed as the ball softened and became difficult to strike cleanly. Towhid Hridoy added 28 runs, and Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 44 before Bangladesh finished at 296 for eight wickets. Akeal Hosein claimed four wickets for the West Indies while Alick Athanaze dismissed two batsmen in the series finale at Mirpur.
