Muslim women light up Varanasi’s Dev Deepawali with eco-friendly diyas

The Dev Deepawali in Varanasi is almost here, and preparations are going full speed. This year, about one million lamps will light up the ghats of the Ganges, with Muslim women of Varanasi playing a key role. They have been making 100,000 lamps from cow dung over the past 15 days to be lit during the festival, showing unity between Hindus and Muslims.

The Uttar Pradesh government is planning a grand celebration, with eco-friendly lamps adding a sustainable touch. The event will feature a cultural festival, laser shows, and pollution-free fireworks. With millions of lamps and beautiful lighting, Varanasi will shine brighter than ever for this historic event.
