Mwonzora faces arrest over US$3,500 child support row

Mwonzora, the MDC T president, skipped five months of child maintenance and owes $2,500, leading to a warrant for his arrest. The courts told him to pay $500 a month for his 10-year-old son and cover school fees, but records show he missed payments from March to July. His debt jumped to $3,500 after failing to pay in August and September. Police have not acted on the warrant, and the mother, Chuma, criticized officers at Harare Central for ignoring the order.

Mwonzora denies any knowledge of the warrant and calls the accusations a smear job. Police have promised answers but have not given any comment by press time. The case remains unresolved.
