Myanmar, China talk trade and investment
Myanmar’s investment chief met Chinese business representatives on Friday to discuss economic partnerships as Dr Wah Wah Maung emphasized protections available through bilateral agreements and regional trade frameworks. The Union minister noted both nations participate in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership while pointing to infrastructure projects linking the countries, including border commerce enhancements and yuan-based transactions.
During separate afternoon sessions with business leaders, Dr Wah Wah Maung addressed strategic planning for Southeast Asian economic integration through 2045. The minister stressed private sector involvement as essential to regional development goals while encouraging collaboration between commercial enterprises and government agencies.
Yangon Region officials outlined support mechanisms for investors during the morning discussions with the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar at the Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration.
