Myanmar seizes 155 in online scam crackdown

Myanmar authorities arrested 155 foreign nationals on Wednesday for running online gambling and fraud operations in Kayin State. The group consisted of 104 Indians, 24 Indonesians, and 27 Filipinos.

Officials have detained more than 10,000 illegal immigrants between late January and late October. The government has already sent 9,339 people back through Thailand, while 780 others remain in custody awaiting deportation.

Myanmar is working with neighboring nations to eliminate online scams and illegal gambling networks. Authorities continue processing the remaining detainees for return to their home countries.
