Namuwongo Blazers unveil squad for Road to BAL 2026 qualifiers

The Namuwongo Blazers are gearing up for their historic debut in the Road to BAL 2026 qualifiers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Ugandan team will face off against hosts Dar City and Comoros’ Djabal Club from October 17–19. This marks a huge moment for Ugandan basketball as the Blazers step into the prestigious Basketball Africa League qualification series for the first time.

With two key international signings, American guard John Murry and Nigerian forward Joseph Obasa, the Blazers are bringing serious firepower to the tournament. Murry’s explosive scoring and Obasa’s dominance on the boards are expected to elevate the team’s play. However, Dar City, with their star-studded roster and home advantage, remain the favorites to win the group. The Blazers are determined to defy expectations and make their mark.
