New clinic in Hwange Rural to boost health access for villagers

Communities in the Hwange Rural District Council are praising the government’s commitment to universal health access with a new clinic set to solve the problem of long-distance travel for medical care. Built by a collaboration between the government, Buy a Brick Foundation, Hwange Rural District Council, and the local community, the clinic will open next year.

Villagers are relieved, as the clinic will tackle issues like missed medication for chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. For years, they’ve had to travel over 10 km to distant clinics, facing dangerous wildlife and high costs. The clinic’s location promises to improve health outcomes, especially for pregnant women and those with chronic illnesses, providing vital services closer to home.
