NIDP Chairman presents party’s vision and policy plans

National Interest Development Party chairman U Thant Zaw outlined his organization’s platform ahead of parliamentary elections, emphasizing equal rights for Myanmar’s 135 ethnic groups and protection of sovereignty amid international pressures. The Mon State-based politician pledged to cooperate with any faction sharing commitments to national interests while addressing economic instability, inflation, and foreign interference concerns affecting citizens.

The party’s agenda targets healthcare expansion in rural regions, free primary education access, agricultural loan support for farmers, and international labor standards for workers. U Thant Zaw committed to eliminating corrupt administrative systems, protecting property ownership rights, preventing natural resource exploitation, and establishing impartial judicial procedures. Representatives elected under the Green Peacock symbol would pursue anti-monopoly legislation, seasonal crop tax exemptions, and drug eradication initiatives through the parliamentary process.
