Nine Malaysian activists freed from Israeli detention return home

Nine Malaysian activists who took part in a mission to Gaza will return home on Sunday after being released from Israeli custody. They are flying from Istanbul on Turkish Airlines flight TK60, scheduled to land in Kuala Lumpur at 5:05 p.m.

Earlier, the group arrived in Istanbul from Israel on Turkish Airlines flight TK6921. The Malaysian Foreign Minister confirmed their safe arrival.

Humanitarian Care Malaysia thanked the governments of Turkey and Malaysia for their help in freeing the activists. The group had traveled to Gaza with hopes of ending the blockade.

The activists were part of a mission with 150 people from 25 countries. They were detained after Israeli forces intercepted their ships near Gaza.
