Noshin Anjum leads 43rd Women’s Chess Championship

Noshin Anjum holds first place with 5 points after five rounds of the 43rd National Women’s Chess Championship 2025 in Dhaka. The Bangladesh Chess Federation hosts the tournament at its hall in the capital city.

Nusrat Jahan Alo from Cumilla sits in second place with 4.5 points. Three players share third place with 4 points each: Warsia Khusbu, Kazi Zarin Tasnim, and Walijah Ahmed from Bangladesh Navy.

On Saturday, Anjum defeated Tasnim in 28 moves while playing white pieces. Khusbu beat Alo after 41 moves, and Ahmed won against Sharmin Sultana Shirin in 43 moves. Israt Jahan Diba upset veteran Rani Hamid in 43 moves.

On Sunday, players rest before the seventh round begins on Monday at the same location.
